Returns & Refunds
Right of withdrawal for physical goods
As a consumer, you may cancel your online purchase of physical goods within 14 days of receiving them without giving a reason. If goods from one order arrive separately, this period begins when you receive the last item.
For online orders collected in person, the withdrawal period begins when you collect the goods.
We do not offer an additional voluntary return period beyond your statutory rights.
Different rules apply to digital content and personalised goods, as explained below.
How to cancel
Notify us of your decision within the applicable withdrawal period by emailing aino@aatelma.com, using our online withdrawal function, or sending another clear statement.
Please include your name, the items you wish to cancel and, if available, your order number. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not compulsory. You do not need our approval to exercise your statutory right of withdrawal.
When you use our online withdrawal function, we will send you an acknowledgement by email without undue delay, including the details of your cancellation and the date and time it was submitted.
For physical goods covered by the right of withdrawal, you may also cancel before your order is delivered. Simply leaving a parcel uncollected does not count as cancellation.
Returning your order
For physical goods, send the items back within 14 days of notifying us of your cancellation.
Return address:
Aatelma Oy
Kilonkulma 3 as 2
02610 Espoo
Finland
This is our business correspondence and postal return address. There is no walk-in shop or customer reception at this location. Any in-person collection or return must be agreed with us in advance, including the location and time.
You are responsible for the direct cost of return shipping when you change your mind. For artworks that cannot normally be returned by post, we will provide an estimate of the return transport cost before purchase.
Please pack items securely, using the original protective packaging where possible or equivalent protection. Include any accompanying accessories and certificate of authenticity. We recommend a tracked service and keeping proof of postage.
Condition of returned items
You may unpack and inspect your purchase as you would in a shop.
You are responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the item’s nature, characteristics and functioning. This may include damage, staining, alterations or use beyond inspection. Where applicable, we may deduct the actual reduction in value from your refund.
Opening the packaging does not, by itself, remove your right of withdrawal. Original packaging is recommended for protection but is not a condition of exercising that right.
Refunds
When you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, we will issue your refund without undue delay and within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice.
For physical goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have provided evidence that you have sent them back, whichever happens first, unless we have offered to collect the goods ourselves.
If you cancel your entire order, we will also refund the original delivery cost up to the price of the least expensive standard delivery option we offered. Additional charges for a more expensive delivery option are not refundable.
Refunds are made using the original payment method unless expressly agreed otherwise, without a refund fee.
Digital products and pre-orders
For digital content supplied electronically, such as downloadable PDFs, the statutory 14-day withdrawal period begins when the contract is concluded, rather than when the content is delivered.
Once delivery of your digital product has begun, you no longer have a right of withdrawal, provided that you expressly consented in advance to delivery beginning during the withdrawal period, acknowledged that you would lose this right, and received confirmation of your consent and acknowledgement by email.
For digital pre-orders, the same withdrawal period begins when the contract is concluded. The scheduled delivery date is stated on the product page.
Digital content does not need to be physically returned. If you withdraw from the purchase and receive a refund, you must stop using the content and must not share it with others.
These rules do not affect your statutory rights if the digital content is faulty, not as described or not supplied as agreed.
Personalised and commissioned items
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, such as a commissioned portrait.
An original artwork is not excluded merely because it is unique. Standard products made after ordering are not automatically excluded either. Any applicable personalisation exception will be stated before purchase.
These exceptions do not affect your rights if an item is defective or not as described.
Damaged, faulty or incorrect items
Please contact aino@aatelma.com if your purchase arrives damaged, is faulty or differs from what you ordered.
Where possible, include photographs of the item and packaging to help us investigate. Please retain the packaging while we arrange the next steps. The absence of photographs or original packaging does not, by itself, remove your statutory rights.
We will provide an appropriate remedy under applicable consumer law and cover necessary return costs for confirmed defects or delivery errors. Please contact us before arranging return transport so we can help organise it.
For problems with digital content, please describe the issue and include your order number, if available.
The 14-day change-of-mind period does not limit your statutory rights concerning defective goods or digital content.
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges for change-of-mind returns. You may return an eligible item under this policy and place a new order separately.
This does not affect any right to a replacement for defective or incorrect goods.
